Yemen, WTO cooperation relations discussed

GENEVA,  (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil discussed during his meeting on Thursday in Geneva with Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development (UNCTAD) Supachai Panichpakdi cooperation aspects between Yemen and World Trade Organization (WTO) within the framework of accession process into WTO.

The meeting also discussed developmental concerns of the WTO work, especially in trade, investment and regional trade merging.

On the other hand, the minister also discussed with deputy executive director of International Trade Center (ITC) for exportation development and rising private sectors capability, Stephen Brown,
means of improving cooperation relations between Yemen and the ITC over arranging developmental strategy for Yemeni exports.

ITC officials and experts would pay field visits to Yemen to evaluate priorities, needs and suitable projects.

Meanwhile, talks between Yemen and a number of WTO member states are still underway on the accession of Yemen to the WTO.
