Shura Council concludes discussing General Investment Program

SANA'A,  (Saba)- Shura Council concluded on Wednesday discussing a report on evaluating results of London Conference and General Investment Program.

Shura members highlighted the importance of making a core change in investment environment, improving business, especially those concerning registering possession and lands contracts and naming qualified concerned authorities.

The discussions recommended gearing up completing legislation package concerning national reforms, creating active system for real estate register, approving related draft law and improving performance of commercial judiciary and electricity. The discussions also confirmed the importance of conducting studies over current and investment expenditure directions during the next five years and having necessary measures for making use of foreign supply.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Abul-Karim al-Arhabi, spoke before the council and confirmed the government's intention on implementing National Reforms Agenda. He pointed out that 70% of funds commitments made in London Conference have been specified and that the next stage would witness practical measures to implement these commitments.

"There is great acceptance percentage and international approval of Yemen as a growing democracy country which is willing to implement concerned institutional and political reforms," he said.

In the end of the discussions, the council approved forming a committee to formulate concerned recommendations.
