President Saleh: Rectification committee is independent and effective
[02/September/2007]

SANA'A, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh confirmed on Sunday that the Negative Social Phenomena Rectification Committee (NSPRC),formed recently by a Republican decree, is not "seasonal and its works will be continuous, especially if this work is good and unique,"confirming that the NSPRC is not also factional and does not receive its directions from any political party.

During his meeting with members of the committee, Saleh said that the committee members "have been chosen carefully for their nationalism and their ability to cure such issues" and achieving goals of the committee establishment.

"This committee is not an alternative to any other institution of the country," he said, expressing his keenness on joining local authorities and some security apparatuses with the committee for easing its duties to get all information to enable it to study
negative social phenomena for making necessary suggestions for solving them. "Local authority is the first responsible body in solving such phenomena and the role of this committee is supportive to local authority by consultation and information."

President also addressed the committee's members saying that we will be "your supporters and you will be supporters to us and to executive authority to maintain social peace, enhance stability, freedom, democracy and national unity."

"You are chosen for your personalities, cooperate with each other and any suggestions, studies or research you will present will get our support and the executive authority will stand with you," he repeated.
