Tourism Sector in Republic of Yemen
[16/July/2007] Yemen is seeking to develop its tourist sector.

Tourism sector in the Republic of Yemen has been making great efforts aiming to develop the tourist resources and promote tourist activities as well as to adopt the most advanced means of international tourist marketing.

The minister of tourism Nabeel Al-Fakeeh, told Saba News Agency that the ministry intends to provide a data base of tourist information through a qualitative tourist survey so as to guide the general strategies of tourist investment according to the factual needs of tourist facilities and services of each region of the tourist attractions in the country and the information about the qualified and unqualified manpower so as to re-qualify them as well as providing the tourist sector with the skilled and competent cadres, who are capable upraising the tourism according to scientific methods.

Thus, the Ministry of Tourism is engaged currently in preparing a number of the tourist promotion aids such as the tourist map which includes the tourist attractions all over the country and tourist purchases to introduce Yemen in English, French, German and Spanish in addition to Arabic.

Al-Fakeeh said that, efforts are being exerted by the tourist sector in the ministry for constructing the Tourist Yemen Web Site on the Internet .

The web site aims to present all necessary information about Yemen which the foreign visitor might need to know, he said.

Al-Fakeeh said his ministry would do ht best to overcome the negative impacts of terrorism on the tourism around the world and the heavy loses inflicted the tourist business due to the terrorist acts.

Al-Fakeeh said that, on the sideline of the conference , he will sign a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia in the field of tourism between .
