WB, donors offer $20 mln to educational infrastructure in Yemen
[12/July/2007] SANA'A, July 12 (Saba)- The World Bank announced offering $20 million to carry out the third stage of "the quick path" initiative
to implement educational infrastructural projects to last from July 21 to July 2008.

In a meeting held here, Education Minister Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi reviewed with WB's education section officer Ayshah Foda and
representatives of Dutch and British donors, the second stage fruitful results in the targeted provinces.

They also discussed the results of the primary education development project.

Al-Jawfi also held talks with the education section's advisor in British Cooperation Ministry Digee Swift on aspects of educational
cooperation between the two countries and means of developing them.

They reviewed the educational activities and programs in Yemen financed by Britain.

Al-Jawfi highlighted the British support to Yemen in field of education through the primary education project.

For his part, Swift pointed out to his country's continuous support in field of improving education in Yemen, noting Britain's keenness to support the secondary education development strategy to be launched the Education Ministry by the beginning of July 17.
