Yemen, Comoros to enhance human rights cooperation
[13 May 2007] SANA'A, May 13 (Saba)- Minister of Human Rights Huda al-Ban discussed with the Comoros Minister of Islamic Affairs, Information and Human Rights Madi Ali prospects of future cooperation in human rights and exchanging expertise between Yemen and Comoros.

At the meeting, al-Ban reviewed Yemen's efforts exerted to promote human rights, touching upon several priorities of the ministry such
as studying human rights laws to be adapted to international agreements approved by Yemen, as well as inserting human rights conceptions in school curriculums and coordinating with prison
authorities to improve environment of jails in Yemen.

She declared that her ministry is interested in civil society via promoting partnership with all organizations working in
the area of human rights.

The Comoros minister asserted the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries. He invited minister al-Ban to visit Comoros to get acquainted with experience of hiscountry in this basic field.
