UNESCO, Yemen to preserve Zabid City

SANA'A, May 12 ( Saba)- Minister of Culture Mohammed al-Muflihi discussed Saturday with UNESCO's ambassador to Yemen Hamid al-Awadhi
remedies the ministry would make in preserving Zabid City for it is registered in the World Heritage List.

The meeting dealt with the ministry's suggestion of presenting a law project to the cabinet to ban modern building in the Old City of Zabid.

It also tackled the importance of concentrating on concrete heritage and cultural variety in Yemen and preserving them.

Al-Muflihi confirmed his ministry keenness on constructing ideal relations with UNESCO, pointing to the importance of Yemen's
participation in its forthcoming conference.
