SANA'A, Sep. 17(Sana'a)- An electoral rally organized Sunday in the capital Secretariat of Sana'a for an independent candidate for the presidential election Ahmed al-Majeedi. The elections will be held next Wednesday. Al-Majeedi started his speech in the rally by appraising the city of Sana'a as the capital of Yemen and underscoring the vital role that Sana'a hadplayed in both the ancient history of Yemen and the modern one. He said" We are gathering in this glorious day within our democratic festivity in Sana'a, the historical capital of our homeland, Sana'a theme tropolis of Yemeni cities and Arabia Flex, Sana'a the hub of the national movement and the drive of renovation and restoration"."Tributes should be paid to the group of the pioneering revolutionists who had taken a lead in the Yemeni revolution on the 26th of Sep.1962, they were really historic heroes in defending the first republic in the Arabian Peninsula," he said.
"While our people are exercising their national choice consciously and willingly , they do differentiate between the one - -who takes democracy as a peaceful political means for pursuing the development, construction and modernization's drive and simultaneously addressing the imbalances and combating corruption-and that who takes democracy as a means for pouncing on the regime and liquidating all our nation's achievements made over decades of construction and sacrifices, then imposing coercively theirown vision of darkness upon our people", he said.He added " We'll find some people in the Joint Meeting Parties have been adopting during the election campaign a discourse that blackens everything and creates a state of disappointment and desperation among peoples asa preliminary step forward to swoop upon the authority."
"The JMP leaders - apart from the rest honest and loyal people of the coalition - are exercising the historical delusion that our people are well aware of its cover and overt, short and long-range motives, and they're going to thwart it ".
He said" We should keep the capital Sana'a as a free city of arms.
Armed features have hugely affected the reputation of Sana'a and by large the country. We do appeal to the parliament to pass the law of carrying weapons sooner rather than later. We do reiterate our call for banning weapons possessing and carrying in all Yemeni cities".
" Let me personally and on your behalf denounce the coward terrorist act against our petroleum installations in Hadhramout and Marib governorates. We stand by our armed and security forces and we do say to terrorists and those who might be behind them that Yemen can't be a theater for terrorism but it will be grave for them, he added.
Al-Majeedi said" I'm glad to conclude my campaign here in the great Sana'a. We do feel with all trust that our people are able to choose the competent candidate who can continue the development process and lead the country toward the modernization and prosperity".
