Sterling heals wounds
[18/يناير/2019] SANAA, Jan. 18 (Saba) - The Sterling recovered on Wednesday from low levels after the British parliament rejected Prime Minister Teresa May's exit from the European Union.
The pound rose by 0.05% to $ 1.2867 by 10:18 GMT, after closing yesterday at $ 1.286.
The pound was down about 1.2% before the parliament vote yesterday, and losses after the vote increased to 1.5%.
The British parliament overwhelmingly rejected the agreement, reached by May with Brussels to get out of the European Union, a slap in the efforts of more than a month to convince MPs that this agreement is the best deal Britain can get.
