Moscow Washington is preparing to accuse Russia of supporting
[16/يناير/2019] SANAA, Jan. 16 (Saba) -The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that US intelligence is preparing to publish provocative media leaks aimed at accusing Russia of supporting the activities of the "Daash" organization in Afghanistan.
The ministry said in a statement it had received reports that the US intelligence services are preparing for the process of publishing false "leaks" in Afghan and Western media that would distort the image of Russian policy on the Afghan track.
The statement said that the talk is about trying to accuse Moscow of supporting "Daash," including the claim that Russia provided assistance to the organization in the transfer of armed elements from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan.
The ministry pointed out that the aim of these preparations has caught the attention of world public opinion about the continuing failures following the US military campaign in Afghanistan since its inception more than 17 years ago.
The statement pointed out that there is another target behind the planned provocation, adding that Moscow has repeatedly referred to the indulgence of the US side and the leadership of NATO to reports of unidentified helicopters transporting new recruits and equipment to the militants, "Daash" in Afghanistan, especially in its northern regions.
"We call upon Washington to stop its plots on extremely sensitive issues for Afghanistan and its neighbors, and to contribute effectively to building a peaceful process in this country, in the interests of all Afghan society," the ministry concluded.
