Trump: We will destroy Turkey if the Kurds are attacked in Syria
[14/يناير/2019] SANAA, Jan. 14 (Saba) - US President Donald Trump on Monday threatened Turkey with economic measures against Ankara if Ankara attacks Syrian Kurds.
"We are starting to pull out [our troops] from Syria for a long time, and at the same time we are making strong strikes against the rest of the Da'ash," the president wrote in a tweet on Twitter.
"We will attack them again from the existing bases, if they return."
"We will destroy Turkey economically if it hits the Kurds," he said, advising her to create a safe zone 20 miles away.
"Similarly, I do not want the Kurds to provoke Turkey," Trump said in another editorial.
The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said earlier that there are about two thousand US troops on Syrian territory, and withdrawal will not affect the ability of the country to carry out the necessary military action.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that Ankara was ready to launch a military operation in eastern Euphrates, as well as in the Syrian Manbeg against the Kurds. And then decided to postpone after a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, on December 14 last.
On December 19, Trump announced the start of the withdrawal of US troops from Syria and its return to the United States, without setting a date, on the pretext of the defeat of the "Da'ash" organization in Syria.
