Ten militants killed in an operation by Afghan forces
[14/يناير/2019] SANAA, Jan. 14 (Saba) - At least 10 gunmen were killed by the Da'ash organization and 16 foreign fighters were arrested during a military operation in Afghanistan's northeastern province of Badghis.
The Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the militants were killed during a planned and coordinated operation, carried out by the special forces.
Militants were targeted in a village, killing 10 militants and arresting 16 foreign fighters, the statement said.
On the other hand, an attack on a police station in the province of Herat in western Afghanistan killed five people, including three policemen and a child.
An Afghan official said four policemen were also wounded in the two-hour exchange of fire and a vehicle loaded with explosives was safely left by the assailants.
