9 people killed in train accident in Turkey
[13/ديسمبر/2018] SANAA, Dec. 13 (Saba) - At least nine people were killed Thursday and about 47 others were injured in a high-speed rail derailment in the Turkish capital of Ankara.
The Anatolia news agency quoted the Turkish Transport Minister Jahid Turhan as saying: The incident resulted in the death of nine people, including 3 of the crew of the train, and wounding 47, who are receiving treatment in hospitals.
He added that the express train set off from the central station in Ankara to the state of Konya, and collided with a locomotive returning to the station after checking the railway in the area of Yeni, which led to the incident.
The minister denied the existence of people under the debris caused by the accident.
He pointed to the start of investigations to find out the reasons.
He said he would announce the developments related to the incident.
