SANA'A, Jan. 11 (SABA) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday held a press conference with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Carmela Godeau, who currently visiting the country.
The press conference addressed a number of issues related to Yemeni migrants and refugees, as well as illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa in Yemen and the Saudi aggression blockade against Yemen which caused tragedies and humanitarian disasters for the Yemeni people.
At the conference, Sharaf highly appreciated IOM's unremitting efforts in Yemen through the collection of refugees information they suffer from an extremely complex humanitarian tragedy due to aggression and blockade on the country.
Sharaf also stressed that the blockade imposed on Yemen is the fundamental issue, especially on the Sana'a International Airport which caused tragedies on patients and students, as well as thousands of Yemeni stranded abroad , In addition to halting the arrival of emergency humanitarian aid.
Through this conference, Sharaf sent a letter to the International Community to end the aggression and lift the blockade imposed on Yemen, stressing that the Supreme Political Council and the government of national salvation extend hands towards peace that achieve the sovereignty and rights of the Yemeni people.
For her part, Carmela highlighted the humanitarian situation experienced by the refugees in Yemen and refugees from the Horn of Africa, claiming that the conflict in Yemen and the siege imposed on the country created a critical situation on refugees.
She hoped to visit Yemen in the best conditions for Yemen and for the Yemeni people.
