Yemen to partake in regional judicial conference in Jordan [24/يونيو/2012]
SANA'A, June 24 (Saba)- Yemen is to partake in the regional conference under the title "The role of national justice authorities in implementing the UN Convention to combat corruption", to be held Monday in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Justice Minister Judge Morshed al-Arashani, head of Yemen delegation to the conference, told Saba that the conference, organized by the Arabic Network for promoting integrity and combating corruption, aims to exchange expertise and experiences between the Arab states on the best exercises in the implementation of the 3rd and 4th chapters of the UN Convention to combat corruption.
The conference will discuss the development of capacities of the national justice authorities to be more effective in combating corruption in light of the regional and regional developments and the various challenges facing the Arab countries in this aspect, al-Arshani added.
Judge al-Arshani expected the conference would contribute to enhancing the ability to monitor the gaps between the provisions of the Convention and the national laws, and determine the needs of reform in this area.
