U. S. welcomes security council's resolution 2015 on Yemen [13/يونيو/2012]
NEW YORK, June 13 (Saba) - The U. S. has welcomed the security council's resolution 2015 adopted Tuesday, reaffirming the need to implement the Gulf initiative to advance the political transitional process.
In her statement, U.S. permanent representative to the UN Susan Rice stressed the importance of continuing to implement the second stage of the political transitional stage.
"With this resolution, the international community has sent a clear message that Yemen must move forward, unhindered by political discord or violence," Rice said.
The President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi proved his strong leadership through the implementation of the desired reforms, Rice said, affirming that the U. S. are still confident that President Hadi, the national reconciliation government and the rest of the partners are able to continue to implement the Gulf initiative.
"The Yemeni people must be able to pursue a more secure, democratic, and prosperous future without illegitimate interference or terrorism," she said.
