GCC head to return to Yemen
RIYADH, May 1 (Saba) – Senior Gulf officials reviewed on Sunday the latest developments in Yemen in the light of the latest visit of the GCC Secretary General Abdul-Latif al-Zayani to Sana’a.
In an extraordinary meeting held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s member states also reviewed the outcome of al-Zayani’s meetings in Sana’a with President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the opposition leaders.
In a brief statement, the GCC Foreign Ministers hoped that all obstacles delaying an agreement to end the political conflict in Yemen would be removed soon.
According to the statement, al-Zayani will be flying to Sana’a for further talks with the government and opposition officials.
