SANA'A, March 15 (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel received on Monday a head of the working group of Yemen's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO)
They discussed issues related to accession of Yemen into the international organization based on January meeting and steps taken to finalize demands of the accession in coming period.
The group highlighted a progress achievement by the Yemeni side in bilateral negotiations with members of the organization, affirming importance of continuing such progress, especially as international community supported Yemen to face current development challenges.
Al-Mutawakel, who is head of the Yemeni side in the negotiations, valued efforts of the group to help Yemen to join this organization which would enhance the commercial policies and attract further investment in different sectors in the nation.
He pointed out to the progress in modernizing laws of the country to fit with requirement of joining to the organization, saying that efforts of Yemen to get the WTO membership are a strategic goal.
He hoped the current situation of Yemen would put in concern during negotiations, wishing Yemen could benefit for privileges granted for less developed countries.
