DHALE, Nov. 19 (Saba) – Fans of the southern anti-government movement have burned a military vehicle while on a ration supply duty in Dhale province, in what the authorities said was a shift to an armed violence by the movement aimed at terrifying the people.

The September 26 website reported on Thursday some of the fans intercepted the truck early Wednesday, forced its drivers to get out and then burned it in the highway.

Eight suspects in the sabotage have been arrested including some believed to be involved in an exchange of gunfire with the police at the al-Azareq police station on Tuesday.

Police seized with the arrestees arms, drugs and publications propagating the separation of the south.

The state-run website reported that police were investigating the eight.

on Tuesday, saboteurs, who the authorities said were of the movement's fans, took a fuel truck in the southern province of Lahj. They intercepted the truck and under gun threat they seized it from the highway.

The violation came as the authorities said the movement continued to attack the people, damaging their properties and imposing illegal sums on them.

Dhale province has seen much violence this year when separatist took to the streets chanting anti-unity slogans and fighting the security forces.

However, the movement has used to call what its member plan and carry out in most of the south as a peaceful mobilization.
