SANA'A, Oct. 28 (Saba) - A military source in north-west area has said that military forces in collaboration with tribes of Waelah have managed to open al-Boq'a-Khitaf-Sa'ada road.
The source said that the army troops have driven rebels away from the road, which the rebels blocked to prevent access of foodstuffs, medicines and fuels to citizens of Saada province.
The source expressed his appreciation of Hamdan Ben Zaid tribes, who fights shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in battling the Houthi rebels in the areas.
As the army continues to rid the north of the Houthi rebels within an assault that started in August, the armed and security forces have imposed in the past few days a security cordon on Sa'ada entrances and strict supervision on arms dealers.
Many dealers involved in selling weapons to Houthi suspects were detained in Sana'a and Dhamar governorates, while the cordon have been triggered along the roads leading to Sa'ada in north Yemen to prevent supplies and weapons from reaching the insurgents.
A lot of attempts to provide the rebels with food, fuel and weapons have been foiled recently in a sign of continuous collapse of the insurgents as their food started to essentially decrease.
On the other hand, the authorities are working on creating safe access for supplies for the locals with aid transported by the people themselves.
In Saada and Amran hundreds of rebels have been killed, wounded and arrested and many others surrendered, since the rebellion erupted in 2004.
